Natalie and Shannon wore velvet dresses in their living room, and read love notes to each other.
Shannon and Natalie.
I haven’t met anyone like these two.
Shannon has been one of my best friends for years. We walked across Scotland together, we danced in my backyard in Guelph Ontario and at the Albion, we moved to the West Coast and slept on each others actual living room floors. I couldn’t have been happier to see her marry Natalie all these years later in their home in Vancouver. It makes me teary just typing it.
I met Natalie at a bar four years ago, when she left to go to the bathroom Shannon smiled so big, raised her eyebrows and asked in more of a statement “isn’t she great!” She was. They bring out the best in each other. They are over the top together, hilarious and loud and so in love.
Their friend Gillian made their rings (Their finger prints pressed into each others.), I took their photos. Everyone took turns pouring drinks. It was a rare sunny Saturday afternoon in March and we are all still beaming.
